Draft Treatment

Target Audience The target audience of my music video is young people between the ages of 16 and 25 with an interest in Pop music. The demographic will be mainstream with hobbies and interests yet will still have an alternative thought in fashion and music. They will follow major style trends yet will not take social risks. For example, most of the target audience will purchase clothes from stores such as Urban Outfitters as the shop may have an edgy style to it still follows a fast fashion remit. This demographic doesn't typically wear anything extremely challenging or risqué sticking to safe wins with they style. The way in which the cast will be dressed will reflect the style of the target audience in order to make them appear relatable and for the audience to feel as if they are similar to the artist, therefore creating para-social intimacy.  Location  The locations I wi...

Video Analysis

Slow Thai - Gorgeous  An establishing shot of a Union Flag with a filter starts a vintage and retro feeling to the video which is continued throughout the video. A hand drawn Slow Thai logo appears displaying the artist and rotates around the screen. The video cuts with a fast cutting rate to red phone boxes and rooftop shots across a city. This not only creates nostalgia but also reinforces the brand the artist has created. The shots move to Northampton Town F.C. as moving from an extreme long shot, to a long shot, to a close up to the badge outside the stadium. This gives the video a provincial and small town feeling as the artist has decided to use his home city instead of becoming London- centric as so many other popular artists h...

Statement of Intent

Q. How do you intend to use the four areas of the media theoretical framework to communicate meaning and meet the requirements of your chosen brief? Product 1 For my pop music video, I am using the song ‘If I Go’ by Mura Masa. I am looking to create a visual representation of the song through both narrative and performative elements whilst, simultaneously appealing to the 16-25 ACB1 demographic allowing it to act as an advisement of the track. My target audience will be appealed to the video as the narrative will create a sense of nostalgia as it will be relatable to people at the older end of my audience. However, there will be de-saturated colours to reflect the country and setting of the video as the UK is often portrayed with grey skies. The video will contain both performative and narrative elements due to this being conventional of the genre.  I am not planning on including the artist in the music video due to the fact I want the narrative to be the focal point and I ...
